Free Image Tools: Resize, Compress, Convert and More

Every tool on this page runs entirely inside your browser. Your image is read by the page, processed on your own device, and handed straight back to you. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nothing is stored, and nothing is sent anywhere. That means no queue, no waiting on an upload, and no account. Close the tab and there is nothing left behind.

What free image tools does IWantFreeImageTools offer?

IWantFreeImageTools offers eleven free browser based image tools. For editing and adjusting: an Image Resizer, Image Cropper, Rotate and Flip, and an Add Watermark tool that overlays your own text. For converting and optimising: an Image Compressor, JPG to PNG, PNG to JPG, WebP to JPG, and HEIC to JPG for iPhone photos. There is also an Image to Base64 encoder and an Image Size Checker that tells you whether an image meets a platform's requirements before you upload it.

Every tool works in your browser with no upload, no account and no watermark on your output. Most accept several files at once. Matching an image to the size it is actually displayed at is one of the most effective things you can do for page speed (web.dev).

✏️ Edit and Adjust

Change the shape, size or orientation of an image, or put your own text on it. These are the tools for when the picture is right but the framing is not.

🗜️ Convert and Optimise

Make files smaller or change them into a format the receiving software will actually open. This is where most upload problems get solved.

🗜️

Image Compressor

Shrink the file size while keeping the dimensions. Around 80 percent quality usually halves a photo invisibly.

🧪 Remove and Extract

Pull something out of an image rather than changing the image itself. This is the newest area of the site and the thinnest, so two of these are still being built.

🧾

Image to Base64

Extract an image into a text string you can paste straight into HTML, CSS or an email template.

Common questions

Do these tools upload my images to a server?
No. Every tool processes your image locally using the browser Canvas API, so the file is read by the page on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. There is no server side processing, no storage and nothing to delete afterwards. An easy way to check this yourself is to load a tool, disconnect from the internet, and confirm it still works.
Do I need an account or have to pay?
No account, no email address, no trial and no paid tier. The site is supported by advertising. Nothing gets watermarked and there is no daily cap on how many images you can process.
Can I edit images on my phone?
Yes, every tool works in a mobile browser on iOS and Android. The HEIC to JPG converter is especially handy on a phone, since iPhones shoot HEIC by default and most other software will not open it. The cropper is the one tool that is genuinely easier on a bigger screen, because placing the crop handles precisely is fiddly on a small display.
Can I process multiple images at once?
Most tools accept several files in one go, including the resizer, compressor, all four format converters, rotate and flip, and the watermark tool. The cropper and the Base64 encoder handle one image at a time, because each needs a per image decision that cannot sensibly be applied across a batch.
Which tool do I need for my problem?
Work backwards from the symptom. Too many pixels means the resizer. File too heavy but dimensions fine means the compressor. Wrong shape for where you are posting means the cropper. Will not open or upload at all means a format converter. If none of that helps, the Image Tool Finder Quiz asks seven questions and works it out for you.
